Editor’s Note: April’s Funeral will be Friday July First at 3:30PM at Amissville Baptist Church. The viewing will begin at 2:30PM.
My dearest April Gentry Witkowski died last night (June 25) at 9:15PM thirteen days after her 39th birthday. Following our evening scripture devotion and our singing of Worthy of Worship, I left April to tuck in our three precious children. As I came downstairs several minutes later, I discovered that April too had found rest…her final rest in the merciful and loving arms of our Lord and savior.
No man could have had a more glorious wife, nor children a more loving mother, nor family and friends a kinder companion than April. Undoubtedly, the hearts underneath our tear-stained faces will ache with unbelievable sorrow. And yet hope remains for we know that our savior lives, and that April lives with him. By God’s grace, I believe we can do the unthinkable and press forward in a world without my glorious, purplely person for I know that I will one day soon spend an eternity with her.
Oh how, “Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his Saints.” – Psalm 116:15
Thank you for loving us well. May, God be Glorified!

Peter, I am thanking God for yours and April’s faithfulness through it all, for I know where it comes from … Thank you for being a light in a dark world – for showing others what real hope looks like! Tears for y’all this morning, but true hope for all of us who are in Christ. I am thinking of April and what joy she must have right now. May our God bless and sustain all of you in his love. 1 Peter 1:3-7

Peter, you don’t know me. I grew up at FBC Eastman, but was gone long before you came. I know your inlaws and love them because they have loved me. I’m so sorry for your loss, and so grateful for the grace of God I see upon you in this difficult time. There is no need for you to respond, just know you and your children are loved. -Mike Hardin

Hello Peter, I am a friend of Joetta’s and Christina’s. I have followed Aprils breast cancer story from the beginning and I’ve learned from you how to employ faith and love in times of heartache and suffering. Thank you for the way you have inspired all of us.
I now pledge my love and prayerful support to you and your children in the days ahead as you navigate life without your beloved April. May the prayers of Gods people sustain and encourage your broken heart.
God is close to the broken-hearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit. He walks with us through the fire. Praise be to the One who comforts us like no one else can. May you know the tender care of God now and always.

Peter.
I am Rebecca Bostroms cousin. I lost my wife Lisa to Breast Cancer 10 years ago. But like you, we serve The Lord…so I know where she is. She finished her race. God showed me that my earthly mission was not yet finished and I need to carry on. He comforted me in my grief. He showed me that She never really belonged to me…but that He entrusted her to me for a season. I have comfort knowing that our Almighty God entrusted me with such a precious jewel as Lisa. Trust me my brother. Your grief will wane and God will renew your path and vision. That was hard for me, because before her death, all of my vision included Lisa. God was faithful to ease my confusion, reestablish my path and ignite even more Faith in Him and His devine plan. The Bostroms know how to contact me if there is ever anything I can do for you. Praying for you and the children.
